Exercise, Reduced Fat Diet Most Effective Weight Loss Strategy

May 2, 2012 By Toby Smithson

An analysis of weight loss data from more than 4,000 obese individuals, published in the April 10 online issue of the American Journal of Preventative Medicine, showed those who adopted the tried and true, slow and steady reduced fat diet and exercise “method” of weight loss were significantly more likely to have lost weight than those trying diet “products”, nonprescription pills or liquid diets.

The study was conducted by researchers from Harvard University, and included subjects older than twenty and with Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than 30 during the previous year. Americans spend, however, more than $2 billion dollars each year on weight loss supplements.
